Chorus:
Hey ho, it’s off we go
Down to the Umbagog Bog.
Everyone’s running lickety split.
Who would ever dare to lick a frog?
1. One fine day in a tiny little town
People heard a boy named Billy Brown
Telling everyone he was going to the bog
To stick out his tongue and lick a frog.
Everybody laughed and they all agreed.
No way possible. Never will be
Billy Brown said: “If you want to see,
Everybody follow me.” Chorus:
2. Step right up. Billy said “Get in line.
I will lick a frog if you give me a dime.
Lots of frogs hopping, he had his pick.
He reached for a big one, slimy and slick.
Holding the frog up, he opened his mouth,
It kind of made you sick when his tongue came out.
Hearing a scream, was it Billy’s mom.
The frog jumped down and hopped to the pond. Chorus:
People stood around. Was the show all through?
Wasn’t a thing anybody could do.
There stood Billy at the edge of the bog
Closely looking at the frog on a log.
The frog said: “Ribet!” and leaped up high,
Licked Billy right between the eyes.
What happened next? It happened so fast.
Everybody heard a splash.
